About the job:

The Postgraduate Employability and Enterprise Team, based within the Graduate School, supports postgraduate students to develop the skills, mindsets and experiences required to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment. The team delivers innovative programmes, initiatives and opportunities that enhance employability, entrepreneurial capability, social innovation and research impact.

The main purpose of this role is to lead the design, development and delivery of engaging enterprise, social innovation and impact-focused programmes that support postgraduate students in developing entrepreneurial skills, creative confidence and the ability to translate ideas and research into meaningful societal, economic and community impact.

The postholder will work collaboratively across the University and with external partners including employers, industry, public sector bodies, community organisations and third-sector partners to identify emerging skills needs and develop responsive, high-quality initiatives. The role will involve managing projects and events, developing partnerships, supporting strategic priorities and contributing to an inclusive and entrepreneurial postgraduate experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the postgraduate skills landscape, including national policy developments, funder expectations and the growing importance of enterprise, innovation and impact within postgraduate education. They will possess excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and respond creatively to new challenges.

Working as part of a dynamic Graduate School team, the postholder will contribute to the University's wider ambition of equipping postgraduate students with the knowledge, skills and networks to create positive change in their careers, research and communities.

About the person:

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • * A primary degree or equivalent qualification OR significant relevant experience.
  • * Significant, recent, relevant experience of successful delivery of innovative enterprise and/or social innovation or social enterprise programmes, events and initiatives, providing skills development in a post compulsory education context (for example higher education, further education, commercial, industry or third sector).
  • * Relevant experience identifying entrepreneurial and/or impact focused skill development needs (for example social innovation, social enterprise or research impact) and developing and delivering programmes, courses, events or initiatives to address the needs.
  • * Relevant experience building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of partners, including internal colleagues and external organisations such as employers, industry, public sector, community and third sector organisations, to develop and deliver programmes or initiatives.
  • * Demonstrable experience of role modelling entrepreneurial and impact focused skills, mindsets and behaviours.
