About the job: The School of Biological Sciences at Queen's University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of fixed term Lecturer (Education). The postholder will deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Biological Sciences. They will also undertake educational scholarship aligned with the strategic priorities of the School of Biological Sciences and contribute to research, administrative, outreach, and engagement activities within the School. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area. PhD or equivalent in an area relevant to the job purpose. Evidence of continuing professional development and the ability to produce scholarly publications relevant to the role. Recent relevant experience of teaching and assessing at university level in Biological Sciences, or a closely related subject, commensurate with stage of career. Experience of designing course materials and planning and organising the delivery and assessment of teaching. Experience of developing and delivering innovative methods of teaching and assessment and using digital platforms. Evidence of providing pastoral care for students. Evidence of administrative experience appropriate to the position of Lecturer (Education), commensurate with stage of career. Excellent presentation skills and experience of communicating complex information effectively. Ability to work independently, with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with students and colleagues. This is not an exhaustive list.
