About the job: To support the Tax Manager in delivering a comprehensive and professional tax service to the University and its subsidiary companies, with particular responsibility for VAT and customs compliance, while also contributing to corporation tax, payroll tax and wider tax advisory activities.

The role helps ensure the University meets its tax obligations, maximises available reliefs and VAT recovery opportunities, and provides practical tax guidance across the organisation.

About the person: Candidates should clearly demonstrate on their application form how they meet the following criteria: - Up to 5 years' experience within a tax or finance environment.

OR; Professional tax qualification (ATT or CTA part-qualified, or equivalent) or professional accountancy part-qualification.

At least 2 years relevant experience providing tax advice and preparing tax returns in a business organisation or in practice.

Knowledge of indirect and/or other taxes.

Experience in the use of finance/ ERP systems to analyse, reconcile and report taxation data.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, pivot tables, and reconciliation techniques.
