\n \nQueens Cross Housing Association is an award-winning social landlord based in the northwest of Glasgow. Recognised for its innovation, quality services and high performance, we are we are looking for dedicated, customer-focused Estates Services Caretakers to join our Estates Services team. We have opportunities available on both Day and Night Shift supporting the delivery of high-quality estate services across our communities.
\n \nOur Caretakers play a vital role in creating neighbourhoods where tenants feel proud to live. Whether maintaining communal areas, carrying out inspections, responding to incidents, or supporting estate improvements, you will help ensure our buildings and environments remain safe, clean, and well maintained.
\n \nDayshift Estate Caretaker Vacancies
\n \nVacancy 1: Estate Caretaker (Dayshift) Permanent Contract
\n \nVacancy 2: Estate Caretaker (Dayshift) Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027
\n \nWork Pattern (Dayshift): 37.5 hours per week, 4 on 4 off pattern (7:30am - 7:30pm)
\n \nSalary (Dayshift): Grade 4, £31,570 - £34,000 pro rata
\n \nAs a Day Shift Estate Services Caretaker, you'll help ensure our estates are safe, secure, clean and well maintained while delivering excellent customer service to our tenants and communities.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n \n- \n
- Deliver high-quality estate caretaking services across our neighbourhoods. \n
- Carry out estate inspections and take action to resolve cleaning, maintenance and environmental issues. \n
- Undertake cleaning, minor repairs and property maintenance to maintain safe and clean communal areas. \n
- Provide a visible presence on our estates and respond to customer enquiries and incidents. \n
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and partner agencies to resolve estate issues. \n
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service. \n
- Work flexibly in a reactive environment where priorities can change throughout the day. \n
Essential Criteria
\n \n- \n
- Experience in estate caretaking, facilities management, property maintenance, cleaning, a trade or a similar frontline role. \n
- Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities. \n
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. \n
- Ability to organise your own workload and work independently as well as part of a team. \n
- Practical skills to undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks. \n
- Basic IT skills for recording information and communicating effectively. \n
- A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities. \n
Nightshift Estate Caretaker Vacancies
\n \nVacancy 3: Estate Caretaker (Nightshift) Fixed Term Contract until 30 May 2027
\n \nWork Pattern (Nightshift): 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off pattern (7.30pm - 7.30am)
\n \nSalary (Nightshift): Grade 4, £34,440 - £37,091 pro rata + £1,543 annual nightshift allowance.
\n \nAs a Night Shift Estate Services Caretaker, you'll provide an out-of-hours estate service, helping to keep our neighbourhoods safe, secure and well maintained while responding to customer enquiries and incidents

\nKey Responsibilities
\n \n- \n
- Work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, reactive environment. \n
- Provide a visible presence across our estates through regular patrols and inspections. \n
- Respond to out-of-hours incidents, emergencies and customer enquiries, taking appropriate action. \n
- Monitor estate conditions, CCTV and security issues, escalating concerns where required. \n
- Carry out cleaning, minor repairs and maintenance to ensure estates remain safe and well maintained. \n
- Work with colleagues, contractors and emergency services to resolve incidents effectively. \n
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents and actions taken. \n
Essential Criteria
\n \n- \n
- Experience in estate caretaking, facilities management, property maintenance, cleaning, a trade or a similar frontline role. \n
- Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities. \n
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. \n
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and make sound decisions. \n
- Practical skills to undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks. \n
- Basic IT skills for recording information and communicating effectively. \n
- A full UK driving licence. \n
