Role Overview
Queens Cross Housing Association is an award-winning social landlord based in the northwest of Glasgow. With 4,355 properties adjacent to the city centre and West End and the Forth and Clyde canal running through, it is a place where people are proud to live and to work. Queens Cross Group includes a Registered Social Landlord, a property management subsidiary (Queens Cross Factoring) and a social enterprise which lets commercial property (Queens Cross Workspace). Recognised for its innovation, quality services and high performance, Queens Cross Housing Association is looking to appoint a temporary Cyclical and Compliance Assistant within our Cyclical and Compliance team.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of cyclical maintenance and compliance programmes that keep our homes safe, well-maintained and fit for the future. Working closely with colleagues, contractors and customers, you will help ensure services are delivered efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and provide a high-quality customer experience. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will take ownership of assigned activities, contribute to service improvements, and support the ongoing performance of our property services.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned cyclical and compliance programmes, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, and aligned to performance targets and budgets.
- Raise repairs and maintenance works orders for routine programmes of work.
- Monitor programme performance, maintaining accurate records and proactively identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
- Undertake common area inspections, noting issues, and reporting to the relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with contractors, ensuring high standards of service delivery, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, resolving enquiries and complaints effectively and contributing to a positive customer experience.
- Support performance and financial management through accurate reporting, invoice validation, and contribution to service improvements.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a property compliance environment, managing competing priorities within a fast-paced service.
- Experience in a role requiring an in-depth understanding of compliance legislation.
- Experience of indirectly managing contractors or external stakeholders, scheduling works and querying invoices.
- Budgetary experience.
- Experience of using property management systems or similar databases to manage works, records and performance data.
- Experience investigating and documenting complaints.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to take ownership of workload and deliver to deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Competent in the use of IT systems and Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel for daily work tasks.
