Are you a Physiotherapist looking to spend a year in a rewarding career within a highly specialist service? If so, come and join the therapy department at Queen Victoria Hospital as part of our therapy team within Burns/Plastics/Head and Neck. You will be supported as you shape and empower recovery.
The role covers three inpatient clinical areas of Burns for acute, rehabilitation, and outpatient management, as well as major head and neck cancer surgery cases, providing input for post-operative rehabilitation and tracheostomy management, and plastic surgery rehabilitation after breast and reconstructive surgeries.
You will work within established MDTs, directly within a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and pressure garment technicians. This post has direct peer support from two other Band 7s within the team, as well as the Therapy Services Manager. You will contribute to clinical governance meetings and work on service development within the clinical areas.

Your responsibilities include delivering advanced clinical assessments and treatments to adult patients on rehabilitation pathways, creating and delivering bespoke training to less experienced therapists, students, support workers, and the wider MDT.
In the wider MDT, you will collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Nursing Teams, Psychological Therapists, and Medical Colleagues, including Surgeons, Anaesthetists, and Intensivists. This diverse range of professionals provides access to excellent in-house training driven by highly experienced clinicians.
You will also be an inspirational and compassionate leader, joining departmental initiatives with peers across seven other therapy teams at QVH. As joint lead of the team, you will evaluate the service, implement developments aligned with the evolving caseload, and handle clinical and management responsibilities, including completing PDRs, staff development, performance management, recruitment, and workforce planning.
Working for our organisation, rated GOOD overall with outstanding care by the CQC, you will be part of a specialist NHS hospital providing life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care, and rehabilitation services across the South of England and beyond.
