Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as the Maintenance Supervisor you will support the Cluster Maintenance Manager with project work whilst overseeing the in-house Maintenance team members. You will keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork, from simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you will approach every task with devotion and pride.

You will ensure the highest quality of product both external and internal with key emphasis on standards, Health & Safety, sustainability and cost control. You will also direct and develop your team to support you in these areas.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Repairing or replacing items around the hotel and refurbishing items in guest rooms.
  • Organising supplies and ensuring equipment is ready for the next day.
  • Living up to high safety standards – following guidelines and informing your GM and Cluster Maintenance Manager about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment.
  • Keeping an eye out for improvements – following the preventative maintenance calendar and maintaining efficiency at all times.
  • Completing statutory health and safety maintenance checks ensuring compliance paperwork is up to date and in good order.
  • Liaising with contractors to ensure competitive quotes and being available to liaise with them whilst they are on-site.
  • Planning daily and weekly tasks for Maintenance Engineers in the hotels.
  • Providing support and technical guidance to Maintenance Assistants and other hotel staff.
  • Supervising and checking the work of on-site Maintenance Engineers.
  • Ensuring that facilities, such as water heating and lifts, are well-maintained.
  • Keeping your GM and Cluster Maintenance Manager informed about any low-running supplies.
  • Being available for emergencies and preserving the building and its systems during emergencies.
  • Ensuring all guests and colleagues are safe during emergencies.
  • Planning and implementing maintenance projects in both properties.
  • Supporting and sharing best practices with other Maintenance personnel within the group.

What we need from you:

  • Similar supervisory experience in maintenance or repair work within a hospitality environment.
  • Vocational training, preferably plumbing and electrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.
  • A working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Organisation, time management, delegation, prioritising and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload.
