Warwick (2 to 3 days onsite) Shift-based working environment. Our client is seeking an experienced Data Product Owner to support the delivery of strategic data products and digital transformation initiatives within a critical infrastructure and energy environment. This role will play a key part in supporting large-scale data transformation programmes aligned to Net Zero and future energy network objectives. You’ll work across business and technical teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong product ownership experience across enterprise data platforms, Data Fabric architectures, and Agile delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage enterprise data products through the full product lifecycle.
- Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Manage Agile backlogs and prioritisation activities across delivery teams.
- Ensure data products deliver measurable operational and business value.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Network Design, Digital, Engineering, Operations, and Data teams.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements gathering activities.
- Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical delivery teams.
- Manage stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams and delivery initiatives.
- Support implementation of modern enterprise data solutions including Data Products and Data Fabric architectures.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, Developers, and Analysts to support successful delivery.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, quality, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate testing, validation, release planning, and production deployment activities.
- Support operational readiness and transition into BAU support models.
- Maintain product documentation, process flows, operational guides, and release artefacts.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for enterprise data products.
- Identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, and innovation.
- Promote best practices across Agile delivery, product ownership, and data management.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Product Owner, Product Owner, Data Delivery Lead, or similar role.
- Strong experience delivering and managing enterprise Data Products.
- Experience working within modern cloud-based data ecosystems and Data Fabric architectures.
- Strong capability gathering and translating business requirements into deliverable solutions.
- Experience managing products through full delivery lifecycle including production releases.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong documentation, governance, and process management capability.
- Experience working across cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Ability to operate independently within fast-paced delivery environments.
- Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, or electricity transmission sectors.
- Understanding of transmission network operations and digital transformation programmes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and master data concepts.
- Exposure to analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
- Understanding of Net Zero, sustainability, or energy transition initiatives.
