Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

About the Role: Join a leading financial services organization as a Network LAN Engineer. This role involves working on Software Defined Networks, producing detailed design documentation, and implementing network configurations. You will collaborate with architectural and design groups to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed design documentation based on architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with architectural and design groups to ensure design accuracy and standards compliance.
  • Work with project management teams to understand project deliverables and meet timescales.
  • Review and approve network-level changes and implement complex changes.
  • Collaborate with other technical groups to deliver business-critical projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with business, application, and systems requirements.
  • Provide project implementation support during business and occasionally off-business hours.
  • Create and update network infrastructure documentation.
  • Provide input to define or refine group practices to meet team objectives.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Multicast design and experience deploying multicast networks.
  • Hands-on experience deploying VXLAN EVPN (design experience would be advantageous).
  • Experience working with Arista devices, Arista CVP and automating Arista based networks.
  • Excellent Routing & Switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF).
  • Proficiency in security technologies: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA.
  • Experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Nexus.
  • Familiarity with appliances such as F5.
  • Knowledge of Data Centre L2/L3 principles and devices.
  • Experience in Any Source Multicast (ASM) and Source Specific Multicast (SSM).
  • Understanding of IP PIM Sparse Mode and IP IGMP.
  • Experience with Cisco ACI, GIT, GITLAB, JSON.

Person Specification:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
