This is a senior, hands‑on technical leadership role with clear accountability for the non-functional health of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA landscape throughout migration and go‑live. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, resilience, and performance of a complex enterprise SAP environment during a major transformation programme. This is not a governance‑only position; you will be deeply involved in design, troubleshooting, and delivery at pace. You’ll work within a high‑performing team using modern SAP and infrastructure technologies, contributing to a programme with high visibility and real business impact in a complex, enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design and assurance of non-functional requirements across the SAP landscape
  • Lead on high availability and resilience strategies, including clustering, failover, and system recovery
  • Define and validate disaster recovery frameworks, including RTO and RPO objectives
  • Drive performance and scalability, including system sizing, tuning, and optimisation
  • Ensure operational readiness for go‑live, including production stability and support models
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and implement long‑term fixes
  • Collaborate with testing teams to deliver performance, failover, and resilience testing
  • Provide technical leadership across delivery teams, infrastructure, and vendor partners
  • Contribute hands‑on to SAP Basis, HANA, and S/4HANA environments

Your Profile

  • Deep, hands‑on expertise in SAP Basis, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA
  • Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale SAP landscapes
  • Strong background in non‑functional architecture (HA, DR, resilience, performance)
  • Experience delivering or supporting S/4HANA migrations or large transformations
  • Ability to lead high‑impact incident resolution and root cause analysis
  • Strong infrastructure knowledge across OS, networking, storage, and virtualisation
  • Experience working in complex, high‑pressure environments with senior stakeholder visibility
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services)
  • Strong track record of hands‑on technical delivery
  • Ability to challenge and influence architectural decisions
  • Experience working across multi‑vendor environments
