Project Manager – Smart Meter GSOP
Location: Windsor, UK (Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week)
Start Date: 01 Sep 2025
Duration: 6 months contract
Rate: £500/day (Inside IR35)
About the Role
Our client, a leading global organisation and a top name in the IT sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Smart Meter GSOP initiatives within their Smart Meter Operations team. This role will drive regulatory compliance, customer experience improvements, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, manage budgets, and deliver strategic roadmaps in a complex, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver Smart Meter GSOP regulatory projects, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency
- Define and present business cases to programme boards, securing approvals and managing implementation roadmaps
- Plan, monitor, and report on project progress, budgets, risks, and mitigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business and technical requirements
- Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring clarity of requirements and deliverables
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership and boards
- Support effective stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and cross-team collaboration
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in IT, with 10+ years as a Project Manager (Smart Meter projects essential)
- Proven expertise in Smart Meter systems, GSOP projects, and CX journeys
- Strong experience in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and delivery
- Skilled at translating business requirements into functional specifications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Track record of managing multiple vendors and cross-functional delivery teams
