The organisation works across multiple regional authorities and national delivery bodies to shape long-term investment decisions in transport, infrastructure, and economic development.
The role sits within a technical function focused on data-driven modelling, economic appraisal, and strategic planning that informs major public investment decisions.
As a Programme Coordinator within a specialist modelling and appraisal function, you will coordinate multiple interdependent analytical workstreams spanning transport modelling, economic analysis, and infrastructure planning. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of complex programmes on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards, working closely with technical analysts, economists, delivery partners, and senior stakeholders.
The role requires strong governance oversight, financial tracking, and coordination of commissioning and supplier activity across multiple programmes supporting strategic investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and manage complex, multi-workstream analytical and modelling programmes
- Ensure programme delivery aligns with organisational priorities, timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans across interconnected workstreams
- Support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control activities
- Work with technical and analytical teams to interpret modelling outputs and support decision-making
- Oversee commissioning, procurement, and supplier coordination activities
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders across regional and national delivery partners
- Produce clear and accurate reporting on programme progress, risks, performance, and financial status
- Maintain governance frameworks and ensure effective programme controls
- Support continuous improvement in delivery processes, tools, and programme management practices
- Proven experience delivering complex programmes or projects with multiple interdependent workstreams
- Background in infrastructure, analytics, modelling, economic appraisal, or similarly complex environments
- Strong financial management experience including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Experience managing procurement, commissioning, or supplier contracts
- Ability to work with complex datasets and technical/analytical teams
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organisational ability with experience managing competing priorities in a complex environment
