Java Technical Lead - Remote

In this role you’ll guide a small Agile delivery team through full‑lifecycle software development—helping shape solutions, writing high‑quality code, and mentoring other developers. Location: Bournemouth, UK (Hybrid – 1-2 days on site per week) Day Rate: Inside IR35 (Flexible) Lead design & development efforts from requirements gathering through to implementation and support Write hands‑on Java code (approx. Define and enforce best practices, design patterns, and coding standards across the team Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level developers through technical workshops and code reviews Track and report progress to Scrum Masters and Project Managers, ensuring on‑time delivery 5+ years’ hands‑on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, MVC, Security/OAuth2) ~ Proven expertise in building & consuming SOAP and RESTful web services ~ Familiarity with middleware integration patterns and Azure Cloud services ~ Solid understanding of software design patterns and ability to communicate them clearly ~ Strong Agile background—comfortable working in Scrum ceremonies and iterative delivery ~ A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with a keen eye for quality and maintainability
