Contract: 6 months initially

Day Rate: £400–£450 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Application Engineer with deep expertise in backend cloud-based application development. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will shape strategy, mentor junior engineers, and foster a strong developer community. You’ll champion best practices such as TDD and BDD, ensuring high-quality deliverables across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in backend development and deliver practical solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC: requirements, development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and apply emerging technologies to drive innovation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across teams.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, IT teams, and business stakeholders to align on requirements.
  • Review technical documentation and suggest improvements.
  • Promote best practices like TDD and BDD for maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Apply design patterns for scalable, efficient, and reusable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with IT and Information Security policies.
