Head of Testing in London

6-Month Contract | £580 per day (Inside IR35) | Reading (Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite) | ASAP StartWe’re looking for an experienced Head of Testing to lead the testing and QA function across large-scale digital transformation programmes within the Utilities sector. This is a strategic leadership role focused on defining testing standards, driving quality engineering best practices, and ensuring successful delivery across complex enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and deliver the overall testing and quality assurance strategy.Lead and develop high-performing testing teams across multiple programmes.Establish test governance, quality standards, metrics, and reporting.Oversee SIT, UAT, regression, performance, security, and automation testing.Drive test automation, CI/CD adoption, DevOps, and continuous testing practices.Manage senior stakeholder relationships, vendors, and executive reporting.Ensure release readiness, risk management, and quality assurance across all deliveries.Proven experience as a Head of Testing, Test Director, or Senior Test Manager.Strong background delivering enterprise-wide testing programmes within the Utilities industry.Extensive experience in Test Strategy, Governance, Quality Engineering, and Test Automation.Experience leading distributed testing teams across Agile and hybrid delivery environments.Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.Technical EnvironmentIf you’re an experienced testing leader with a strong Utilities background and a track record of leading large-scale transformation programmes, we’d love to hear from you.
