We are looking for a highly skilled Salesforce Principal Engineer to join a leading enterprise on a 6-month contract. This is a hybrid role based in Windsor, UK, requiring one day per week in the office initially.

As a Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and shape the Salesforce platform architecture across multiple teams. You will define standards, guide best practices, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while influencing engineering direction across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to Salesforce developers and stakeholders
  • Define and maintain Salesforce system architecture, integration patterns, and platform standards
  • Shape and deliver mobile and digital capabilities that enhance safety, compliance, customer experience, and productivity
  • Champion engineering excellence: CI/CD automation, testing strategies, observability, release processes, and secure-by-design practices
  • Ensure platform reliability, performance, and resilience
  • Implement AI-enabled tooling and automation practices to improve ways of working

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong expertise in Salesforce Service Cloud (E&U Cloud preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of LWC, Apex, Flows, and API development
  • Experience defining engineering standards and architectural guardrails across multiple teams
  • CI/CD pipeline experience, particularly with GitHub deployments
  • Ability to solve complex, cross-domain technical problems
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering practices

Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a Senior or Principal Software Engineer in complex digital or platform environments
  • Proven track record influencing technical direction without direct line management responsibility
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience adhering to architectural frameworks, security standards, and data privacy requirements
