About the Role The principal duty of the post will be to undertake routine large scale sample management (logging, processing, storing/banking) of any and all biological study samples collected by the study, with some out of hours work expected.
the Institute Genes & Health ( is an ambitious high-profile community-based genetics study that aims to improve health among individuals of Pakistani and Bangladeshi descent and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join our laboratory team. The Study, which has close collaborations with leading international genomics centres, including the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and The Broad Institute, has to date collected samples and genetic data from over 73,000 volunteers. Data produced by the study has contributed to papers in Cell, Nature and New England Journal of Medicine.

About You Essential requirements for this post include a BSc in a biological subject with an understanding of Genetics and Genomics principles, and Health and Safety procedures. Experience in biological sample processing will be looked upon favourably. The post holder will exhibit a high attention to detail and accuracy in their work along with the qualities of being flexible whilst working cooperatively within a team.
