About the Role
Applications are sought for a Project Coordinator in Global Child Health Research to manage a portfolio of studies. This is a wide-ranging role which will allow the post-holder to develop a broad range of skills and experiences as a platform for career development, within a vibrant global health research group led by Professor Andrew Prendergast. The post is based in the Centre for Genomics and Child Health in the Blizard Institute, within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The role combines project management with administrative support. The post-holder will help to coordinate multiple studies by working with researchers in the UK and Africa, with a specific focus on managing the Co-SAM clinical trial ( which is underway across nine sites in three countries. The administrative functions are aimed at ensuring efficient and coordinated management of the group members. Coordination functions include working closely with staff running research studies in Africa, and a strong team-working ethos and ability to work across cultures is essential.
About You
Applicants will have a relevant undergraduate degree, experience in project management, and excellent communication skills. Experience of clinical trials and familiarity with Good Clinical Practice guidelines is essential.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) is organised into 6 separate Institutes, of which the Blizard Institute is one of the largest, with personnel of c400, financial turnover of c£50 million per annum; and research expenditure of over c£14 million per annum. The Institute is organised into 5 separate Centres, which though complementary and following the Institute’s strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
