The Senior Lecturer in Law (Teaching & Research) will make a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the Department, focusing particularly on teaching and research with a contribution to teaching one or more of the foundational subjects of the LLB and contributing to other teaching activities within the Department as needed.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment, with a start date as soon as possible but at the latest by 1st January 2027.

About You

You will have a PhD in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience, or relevant professional qualification, and a demonstrable ability to teach at undergraduate level. Ideally you will have teaching accreditation from the Higher Education Academy at Fellow or Associate Fellow level, or be working towards this. For Senior Lecturer level you will need substantial teaching experience.

The School of Law is one of five schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and has two organisational units: the Department of Law and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). Established in 1965, the Department of Law runs thriving undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has a well-established international reputation for innovative research.
