You will act as lead contact for all Postgraduate Research (PGR) activities for your allocated Institute(s), delivering an efficient and professional service for PGR and Associate Research programmes within the Institute. The role involves close working with the Institute Director(s) of Graduate Studies, the Research Degrees Office, the Doctoral College, the Research Services Directorate and Finance, in the administration of PGR programmes and provide support over a full range of activities to ensure a first-class postgraduate experience within the Institute.

You will hold a degree or have equivalent professional experience. You should have experience working in the HEI sector or another large/complex organisation, with direct involvement in administrating PGR student programmes. You will be adaptable, able to respond creatively to change, and skilled in problem solving. You will also have a strong understanding of financial management, planning and budgeting and research funding that supports Medicine and Life Sciences disciplines.

This role will be supporting the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), whose primary research focus is within cardiovascular, endocrine and inflammation research. WHRI is the largest pharmacological research institute in the UK University sector and one of the largest in Europe, and since 2002 have grown from 140 people to over 530 clinicians and scientists from 45 countries.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) is a significant constituent of Queen Mary University of London. It consists of 6 separate Institutes, with personnel of c400, financial turnover of c£60 million per annum, and research expenditure of over c£20 million per annum.
