As a member of the Strategic Planning Office, the post holder will use their relationship building, data and analytical skills and understanding of the HE sector to work with colleagues in both academic departments and in professional services to help them make the most of available data, to improve data quality, make evidence based decisions and to enhance Queen Mary’s strategy and planning processes.

Candidates are expected to have experience of extracting and transforming data from records systems, experience visualising and presenting management information for a wide audience and experience using data visualisation software such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview. It is essential for candidates to be competent in Alteryx, KNIME, advanced Excel, SQL, programming or similar and a high level of skill and ability in producing, interpreting and presenting complex data and information.

This role is based in the Data and Analytics Team within the Strategic Planning Office, which supports the University in using data and information to drive improved performance and decision making. The Data and Analytics Team is a centre for excellence in analytics and dashboard design. It works closely with colleagues in IT Services to deliver first rate systems for manipulating and delivering data to users and provides analysis and insight to support decision making across the university.
