The ER (Employee Relations) Advisor will work as part of the Employee Relations and Policy team, supporting a portfolio of faculty and professional services teams, helping to enhance people management practices, and the interpretation and implementation of HR policies and procedures. This is a permanent role, primarily based at our Department W office, 81 Mile End Road, London, with a need to visit occasionally our other sites within the London area. The role holder will operate in a supportive and coaching way in providing robust and pragmatic support to enable managers to develop confidence and competence to effectively deal with day-to-day people management issues.
Key Responsibilities
The ER Team sits within the HR Directorate which itself sits within the University’s Professional Services that enable and facilitate the success of our students and academics. Along with other professional service areas the HR Directorate seeks to deliver value for money through efficiency, economy, effectiveness and equity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in employee relations, HR advisory, or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels
- A proactive, pragmatic mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confidence in advising and coaching managers through challenging situations
- A collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and positive outcomes
