About the Role
The Director will have overall leadership responsibility for the Research & Innovation Services Directorate (RSID) dedicated to research management and innovation support, with direct line management responsibility for the RIS leadership team and oversight of an £8.1m pay budget and £0.7m operating budget. Be responsible for working collaboratively with Faculty Vice Presidents and Directors of Operations to ensure that locally embedded resources are aligned to the functional service delivery model, alongside other senior leaders across the university and beyond.
As functional lead, the Director will own the service delivery model for research and innovation across the whole university, with responsibility for ensuring services are aligned to university strategy and business needs, developing the necessary capability and capacity to deliver against agreed service standards. The Director and directorate leadership team is responsible for working with the Vice Presidents, ensuring that the university maintains and develops relationships and research partnerships with funding organisations both domestically and internationally. It leads the university's large scale, cross institutional bids, as well as funder relationships and supporting funding diversification.
