Queen Mary University of London (QM) is recruiting an Associate Director of Commercial Services to join the Senior Leadership Team within the Estates and Facilities Directorate. The role is based in East London, supporting the University 2030 Strategy and driving the commercial assets to maximise returns from the estate and commercial services.
The post holder will shape and drive the University's commercial assets, integrating Commercial and Residential Services and delivering tangible service transformation opportunities to support world‑class academic activities and exceptional student/staff experience.
Responsibilities- Shape and drive the commercial strategy to maximise year‑round returns from the estate and commercially trading services.
- Lead transformative change across large, complex organisations, ensuring a unified, high‑performance, inclusive and customer‑focused culture across all teams.
- Deliver exceptional customer‑focused commercial and support services, setting clear direction and consistently achieving results through motivated, well‑equipped, high‑performing teams.
- Support and promote student wellbeing and the highest standards of estates and facilities, ensuring safe, secure and clean environments for students, staff, stakeholders and guests.
- Significant experience leading transformational change in large, complex organisations.
- Relevant industry background and professional qualification.
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding customer‑focused commercial and support services.
- Excellent emotional intelligence, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to set clear direction and deliver through highly motivated, well‑equipped, high‑performing teams.
