Applications are invited for the post of Institute Strategic Manager for Barts Cancer Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Reporting to the Faculty Director of Operations and partnering closely with the Institute Director, you will lead strategy, culture and operational excellence as a senior member of the Institute’s senior management team and Executive Board.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive strategic priorities across research, education, finance, workforce, estates and governance.
  • Develop policy and ensure the effective delivery of Institute, Faculty and University objectives.
  • Use data‑driven insight to influence decisions, optimise resources and maintain robust financial and operational performance.
  • Lead change initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and ensure excellent governance and compliance.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture across academic and professional services teams.
  • Partner with the Institute Director and work closely with senior leadership on strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Experienced, inclusive and collaborative senior leader with a strong track record in complex organisations.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Excellent influencing and analytical skills.
  • Sound financial acumen.
