The opportunity:
As Head of Corporate Communications, you will provide strategic leadership across the University in internal communications (to both students and staff), change communications (including major strategic projects and capital works), and business continuity and crisis communications. You will be responsible for developing and delivering effective communication strategies that inform, engage, and support the organisation’s diverse university community.
The role also includes working collaboratively with colleagues on cross-institutional stakeholder communications and providing communications support to Queen Mary’s Senior Executive Team and Council.
The Head of Corporate Communications will be part of the External Relations Directorate, which oversees all of the University’s external-facing activities, including communications and marketing, student recruitment and admissions, international affairs, and alumni relations and development.
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a large and complex organisation
- Extensive experience managing teams
- Extensive experience in a senior communications role
- Experience in developing and delivering impactful communications and campaign activities
- Experience working with senior leadership teams, Boards, or Committees
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate projects and activities, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic changes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
