About Role

The Multi Skilled Technician (Shift Leader) will provide strategic engineering service delivery for the provision, development and management of an extensive portfolio of all hard services, supporting the achievement of the Queen Mary Strategic Plan and enabling staff and students to work and learn efficiently.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all services are proactive, industry best practice driven, and deliver a high‑quality, reliable and resilient estates technical service.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic engineering service delivery across all hard services.
  • Develop and manage an extensive portfolio of hard services.
  • Ensure services are proactive, adopt industry best practice and methodologies.
  • Maintain high quality, solution‑focused, reliable and resilient estates technical service.

About You

The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a proven record of managing and delivering effective maintenance service and will have experience leading teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification or degree level in Electrical or Mechanical building services discipline.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing maintenance services.
  • Ability to demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

Compensation & Benefits

Post is full time (average of 42 hours per week – four days on, four days off shift pattern, alternating nights and days, including weekends, public holidays and university closures). Permanent appointment. Starting salary: £48,018 per annum. Team Leader Allowance: £2,454.94 inclusive of London Allowance. Shift Allowance: £4,167.32 per annum.
