We are seeking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant Level 3 to join our Secondary School team. The main purpose of the role is to lead and support pupils with SEND in their education, providing differentiated support across the curriculum to meet pupils' special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide differentiated support across the curriculum for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Leverage experience with secondary school pupils to support learning and development.
  • Utilise IT and assistive technology to enhance instruction.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers and support staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative, sensitivity and commitment to the role and the staff team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Excellent IT and assistive technology skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant experience working with secondary school pupils.

Contract & Pay

Contract: Full‑time, term‑time only, 08:30 to 16:00 (35 hours per week). Pay: Salary Grade 6a, Point 11‑16 – £28,141 per annum (FTE). Starting pro‑rata: £21,517. Hourly rate: £14.43. Pay review pending 1 September 2026.
