Key Details
- Hours: Up to 32.5 hours per week over 5 days.
- Term‑time only: 38 weeks plus annual leave entitlement (deemed taken during school holidays).
- Salary: Scale 4 – SCP 7‑11, starting at SCP7 £26,403 per annum (pro‑rata £19,802 per annum based on 32.5 hours).
Responsibilities
- Escort students to and from classrooms or other areas, including removal from lessons, supporting pupils to arrive at lessons, and locating and escorting pupils who are unaccounted for.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of student behaviour and work closely with the Pastoral Team to ensure safety and welfare when students are out of lessons.
- Communicate effectively with students aged 11‑18 in a calm, controlled manner and transfer sensitive or complex information accurately and appropriately.
- Respond to unexpected problems and situations, adapting quickly to changing circumstances.
Qualifications and Requirements
- First aid qualification would be useful.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students aged 11‑18.
- Experience or strong interest in safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children.
- Will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), other statutory required clearance, and reference checks with previous employers.
