We are seeking an Attendance Officer to join our existing team to provide a high quality support service to our schools to monitor and improve overall attendance. This role is for 32.5 hours per week and on a term-time only basis (39 weeks per year including INSET days).

The Attendance Officer is the first point of contact for parents and carers in relation to student attendance and absence. The role is pivotal to maintaining accurate records of attendance and ensuring children are accounted for at the beginning of and throughout the school day. The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high degree of attention to detail and organisational skills.

Working with the Directors of Key Stages, the Attendance Officer will liaise with parents, carers, staff and external agencies regarding attendance and absence. We are looking for someone who will present a professional image and who is able to work independently and as part of the wider admin team.

Responsibilities:

  • The Attendance Officer is the first point of contact for parents and carers in relation to student attendance and absence.
  • The role is pivotal to maintaining accurate records of attendance and ensuring children are accounted for at the beginning of and throughout the school day.
  • Work with the Directors of Key Stages to liaise with parents, carers, staff and external agencies regarding attendance and absence.
  • Present a professional image and be able to work independently and as part of the wider admin team.
  • Experience of working in an office or school environment in an administrative role and with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications would be beneficial, and the postholder should have a good standard of education.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality.
  • Full training will be provided.

Salary and Start:

The salary for this role is at NJC Scale 5 SCP12-17. It is expected the post would start at SCP12 (Β£28,598pa, pro-rata) and pay is equated across the year and includes annual leave and bank holiday entitlement.
