Main duties of the job include:

  • Taking a lead role in monitoring the waiting list in accordance with Trust Policies and wait time targets.
  • Proactively managing the booking of the theatre list on a daily basis to ensure NHS and Trust targets are achieved to prevent breaches.
  • Co-ordinating the admission and associated pre-operative pre-assessment clinics along with booking of HDU, X-ray and additional paediatric requirements.
  • Communicating all changes to planned admissions, theatre lists, intended procedure, equipment requirements and surgeon to relevant staff.
  • Managing and monitoring the waiting lists in accordance with Trust and national wait time targets and RTT pathways, including Cancer, elective, diagnostics, planned elective and cancellations on the day.
  • Participating in the day-to-day input on a variety of data systems for patient information for admission/discharge and waiting list process to facilitate effective, timely information flow.
