Our dedicated Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department is looking for the perfect candidate to join us as a Consultant. In this role you will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality Obstetric and Gynaecological care to patients within the Trust and community and contribute to the further development of the service. You may be required to complement existing general Gynaecology and Obstetrics services and may take on extra clinics or theatres. You will be expected to join the on-call team on a rota basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the ongoing service improvement programme developing Maternity Culture Transformation programme.
  • Implement evidence-based new ways of working when necessary, working collaboratively with nursing and midwifery colleagues, and lead service developments across all O&G services in line with the Better Births Review and ensuring that learning from reports such as Kirkup and Ockenden are embedded in practice.
  • Provide an on-call commitment for Central Delivery Suite and emergency Gynaecology cover as 1:10 on call. The post holder will be expected to be contactable and able to reach the hospital when needed within 30 minutes.
  • Ensure services are delivered effectively and within budget in relation to the Trust’s waiting time standards.
  • Liaise closely with other departments and outside agencies in contributing to the objectives of our services.
