Main Duties of the Job
Under limited direction and in line with the Food Hygiene Regulations, co‑ordinate and supervise the provision of a cost‑effective, high‑quality service, providing safe food, supporting the achievements of the Trust and departmental objectives.
Specifically responsible for monitoring all areas of the catering department to ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained in order to support the delivery of high‑quality patient, visitor and staff services. The post holder will provide departmental leadership and will motivate the team to promote teamwork across all areas/shift patterns within the Catering Services Department, ensuring an efficient and supportive service to all end users.
- Daily supervision and monitoring of the Catering Services team and department service delivery.
- Prioritise own workload, delegate tasks to the team, manage deadlines and meet service needs.
- Use initiative to facilitate an efficient service, assume accountability for decisions and actions within the remit of the role.
The role may involve occasional indirect exposure to distressing or emotional issues, exposure to difficult working conditions during staff shortages, and occasional moderate physical effort for short periods during a shift.
