To provide care and support to patients and service users under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other registered health professional. The Healthcare Support Worker carries out a range of patient care tasks and duties, while being mindful to cater for patient’s individual care needs. The role is clinically based and works daytime shift patterns only. Applicants must have experience in care and hold the National Care Certificate, and be excellent communicators as they will be working with patients, relatives, staff and the general public.
Responsibilities
- Performing a range of delegated clinical skills such as taking physiological observations and monitoring patients’ blood glucose while providing fundamental patient care.
- Working with minimal supervision, accurately recording patient information, and reporting any changes in a patient’s condition to a qualified professional.
- Admin & Clerical staff may be required to act as loggists for a major incident.
- All staff should have a minimum level of computer literacy, as the Trust is becoming increasingly digitally mature.
