Overview

The Rehabilitation Service are looking for someone with suitable experience who is looking to develop their role at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital within the Acute Medical team. You will work alongside therapists on the wards, undertaking therapy programmes to improve a patient’s mobility and functional ability and assist in the risk assessment process for patient’s needs on discharge. Responsibilities

  • To carry out delegated therapy assessments and rehabilitation programmes as specified by the qualified therapist.
  • To provide therapy to patients within the Rehabilitation Services as part of an agreed working rota.
  • To work as part of the medicine therapy team involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with multi‑pathology who may often exhibit confusion or anxiety. The therapy assistants may well be asked to work on other wards depending upon the staffing needs of the Trust.
  • To facilitate rapid discharge of patients from the ward, this will include screening of medical patients, providing information and the provision of equipment if necessary to ensure a safe discharge.
