Responsibilities
The clinical coding assistant will work closely with the clinical coding team to ensure that case notes are collected from across the Trust so that episodes are coded within the monthly deadline. The role involves obtaining patient case notes from various areas of the Trust, locating clinical notes while working closely with the Health Records Library manager and team, medical secretaries and ward clerks. The job is largely manual and requires the successful candidate to be able to walk for around 4‑5 hours per day.
