The predicted salary is between 27000 - 33000 £ per year.
Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher (SENDCo and Inclusion), you will work with colleagues, students, and their parents/carers to build strong, positive relationships to enable all students to fulfil their potential. You will be ambitious for the success of all students and will establish an environment where high expectations and targeted support are fully embedded.
This role is central to ensuring that students who are unable or struggling to access the full mainstream curriculum are supported to remain engaged in learning and make strong academic progress. You will work with students in our Inclusion Workroom, supporting them to complete curriculum work, develop independence and overcome barriers to learning. In addition, you will deliver targeted English support to small groups of students in Years 9-11, helping them to build confidence and secure key skills.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- Has strong literacy skills and confidence supporting English learning
- Builds positive relationships and has high expectations for all learners
- Can create a calm, structured and purposeful learning environment

We are a large and flourishing high school set in the historical market town of Hexham and are co-located with Hexham Middle School as part of Hadrian Learning Trust. In September 2021, we moved into brand new school buildings with state-of-the-art learning facilities. We are also very proud of our internal alternative provision to support students with SEMH needs. We cherish the strong partnerships that exist between students, parents/carers, staff, and the local community making this a successful, friendly, and welcoming school.
