Trainee Teacher Opportunity at Queen Eleanor’s C of E Junior School

Are you a graduate and passionate about becoming a teacher? Have you ever considered training to teach? Do you want to receive high-quality training while making a real impact on young learners' lives? If yes, our Trainee Teacher Programme could be for you!

The Programme: Our School Centred Initial Trainee Teacher Programme (SCITT) provides aspiring teachers with the opportunity to train alongside experienced teachers, receiving tailored support and professional development with a clear path to becoming a qualified teacher at the end of the programme. You will be based 4 days a week at Queen Eleanor’s C of E School during term time and have 1 day a week of centre-based training and professional networking at our training provider hub based in Banstead Surrey or Didcot, Oxfordshire. This programme is run in partnership with Inspiring Future Teachers who facilitate the programme for The Good Shepherd Trust.

Qualifications: To be eligible for this teacher training programme you will have the following qualifications:

  • A degree awarded by a UK higher education provider or recognised equivalent qualification at 2:2 level or above
  • Grade C / 4 or above in English, Maths, and Science
  • Demonstrate you hold the right to work and study in the UK and have been a resident in the UK / EEA for the last three years.

Stage 2 of the applications process is that you will need to complete a DfE application form to train to teach and pass all criteria of the Initial Teacher Training provider.

More Information: This teacher trainee programme is an unpaid training route, but you can apply for:

  • Tuition fee loans to cover your £9,250 course fees.
  • Maintenance loans of up to £13,022 to help with living costs.
