The post holder will be expected to produce transcription documents in Braille, Audio, and Large Print within deadlines, in line with commercial contract specifications and service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide required transcriptions for all live projects, ensuring these are produced within Service Level Agreements.
  • Reconcile daily delivery with client instructions; prepare received data for scanning and transcription.
  • Use specialist software to produce items in preferred formats.
  • Maintain equipment used for transcription (e.g., printers, Braille embossers, scanners).
  • Liaise with colleagues and managers to monitor outstanding work against SLAs.
  • Communicate with clients regarding live projects and assist with reporting.
  • Prepare data for invoicing.
  • Follow security protocols as necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries via email or phone, providing information or quotes.
  • Monitor stock levels of transcriptions stationery and postal services, and inform relevant staff.
  • Assist with postal duties as required.
  • Support QAC Enterprise activities and represent the team at events.
  • Distribute marketing materials for College Enterprises as needed.

General Duties

  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects with the All Formats Manager.
  • Follow College Health and Safety policies.
  • Act in accordance with the Staff Code of Conduct and QAC Values.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain CPD and undertake necessary training.
  • Undertake other duties as agreed with the All Formats Manager.

Extended Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and transcribe documents across all formats.
  • Support training and quality control for new colleagues.
  • Produce reports as needed.
  • Undertake training to develop specialist skills, e.g., Braille.
  • Lead designated projects aligned with skills and experience.
  • Cover for Team Leaders in their absence, including work assignment and SLA management.
