Description: Pro rata salary for 37 hours across 43 working weeks is £27,251.39 up to £35,098.16. Full time salary if working 37 hours / 52 weeks is £28,398.24 up to £36,575.24.

To manage a personal caseload and work as part of a team of speech and language therapists and therapy assistants. You will develop an efficient and effective speech and language therapy service to learners at Queen Alexandra College.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accept clinical responsibility for a caseload of learners and organise clinical priorities and resources efficiently.
  • Provide clinical assessment for learners with a range of conditions/disabilities and complex social and functional needs.
  • Provide direct and indirect interventions and strategies for learners.
  • Support academic staff and relevant stakeholders to maximise the communication environment for students.
  • Participate in departmental in‑service training programmes and deliver presentations, tutorials and individual training sessions.
  • Facilitate participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to integrate recommendations into the college programme.
  • Ensure learner records meet clinical standards and college needs.
  • Collaborate with college staff to follow the dysphagia referral and support process.
  • Perform duties commensurate with the status and nature of the post.
  • Promote the college values of enabling, collaboration, respect, integrity, excellence and inclusion.
  • Work as part of a team within the Speech and Language Therapy Department and the wider MDT including behaviour team and class staff.
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings and oversee quality review of the service, adapting practice as needed.
Professional Development:

Maintain personal development through off‑site and in‑house training, contact and involvement with relevant special interest groups, attendance of in‑service training, and review of literature as required to complete the CPD required by the RCSLT.

Personal Development:

Participate in learning and development activity relevant to performance in the post or to the College as a whole.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise – Essential:
  • Relevant degree 2:2 or above.
  • Registered with HCPC.
  • Completed or willing to work towards completion of Newly Qualified Practitioner’s Competencies.
  • Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Positive relationships with staff, students, relatives/carers and professionals.
  • Organise and prioritise own workload within the allocated caseload.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Registered with RCSLT.
