You will work on the development, maintenance and evolution of trading systems that support production activity across multiple asset classes. The role combines responsibility for an established platform with the development of a new system that will progressively replace it. You will work closely with traders, developers and other stakeholders to preserve production stability while improving architecture and delivering new functionality.

Your future role within QRT

  • Develop, maintain and enhance applications supporting trading workflows
  • Investigate production issues and deliver fixes and improvements while maintaining system stability
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of a new trading platform
  • Understand existing workflows and business logic and ensure critical functionality is carried forward into new systems
  • Collaborate with traders, developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
  • Improve system performance, reliability and maintainability across both existing and new applications

Your present skillset

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, preferably working with complex production systems
  • Strong C# and .NET development experience
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and object oriented design experience
  • Good understanding of multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming and thread safety
  • Experience developing high performance or real time applications
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, messaging, APIs and distributed systems
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and performance analysis skills
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing and modern development practices
  • Experience developing or supporting trading systems is beneficial
  • Knowledge of trade and order execution across asset classes such as FX, Equities, ETFs or Options is advantageous
  • Familiarity with market data, order management, execution workflows, FIX or similar trading protocols is beneficial
  • Strong ownership and a pragmatic approach to working with both established and new systems
  • Ability to understand complex systems and business logic before implementing changes
  • Strong problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to share knowledge and develop a broader understanding of trading systems and workflows
