The Security team supports the day-to-day protection and operational security of the firm's network perimeter. The team focuses on continuous monitoring, incident handling, and maintaining strong firewall security controls. You will work closely with Security and Infrastructure stakeholders to investigate events, manage escalations, and keep security operations reliable across a 24/7 environment.
Your Future Role within QRT
- Monitor security and network events to detect suspicious activity, threats, and policy violations.
- Act as the first point of escalation for network security operational issues in a 24/7 shift environment.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve security tickets, escalating appropriately and documenting outcomes clearly.
- Operate, maintain, and tune firewall controls (including policy changes, validation, and troubleshooting).
- Support incident response activities, including containment actions and post-incident follow-ups.
- Perform routine checks and operational reviews to maintain platform health, availability, and security posture.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and repeatable operational workflows.
Your Present Skillset
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3-5 years' experience in a Network Security Operations, SOC, or security operations role.
- Hands-on experience operating firewalls in production environments (policy management, troubleshooting, change control).
- Experience in a network security or security operations role, with hands-on monitoring and incident triage responsibility.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S) and common network security concepts.
- Familiarity with security monitoring and investigation tooling (e.g., SIEM platforms, network monitoring, alerting systems).
- Ability to analyse logs and network events to identify root cause and recommend remediation.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including ability to document investigations and collaborate across teams.
