This platform covers a broad spectrum from high to low frequency trading systems. P&L and Risk Technology is a relatively recent group within CTO (started late 2023) with a remit to deliver a strategic P&L (Profit and Loss Reporting) and Risk Management platform for all products and all desks across QRT globally. As a greenfield development area, you will gain exposure to contemporary software approaches at enterprise scale including modern DevOps practices, Cloud and AI. You will interact with different functions from Trading & Research to Risk, Operations and the broader Technology teams. With a ‘cross‑asset’ remit for the group you will also acquire knowledge in a range of financial areas from Equities, Derivatives, FX & Fixed Income to Commodities and Crypto.

As a Business Analyst you will gain first‑hand training from a small group of specialist Front‑Office business‑analysts/Project Managers working alongside the broader software engineering team. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle from understanding user‑requirements through to testing and go‑live across a range of projects.

Your future role at QRT:

  • Understand and analyse business requirements. This includes working with traders, and other stakeholders to determine their requirements for trading platforms, risk management systems.
  • Work with experienced subject matter experts and technologists to implement the best business solutions into the software platform.
  • Use data analysis tools to gather and analyse financial data.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports for management to aid in decision‑making.
  • Project coordination with different teams, such as IT, Operations, and external vendors.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department and business units.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve business processes and systems efficiency.

Your present skillset:

  • 0-3 years' experience, ideally a new graduate looking for their first opportunity in a growing firm.
  • Excellent academics and a bachelor degree minimum requirement.
  • Highly motivated, keen to learn in a dynamic environment and strong team player (essential).
  • Some experience (incl. at undergraduate level or in similar role) of programming languages such as Python, SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Some knowledge of financial markets & derivatives is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with an ability to analyse complex data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant experience in a business analysis or technical role within a financial services or investment firm is desirable but not essential. (We will consider suitably motivated and recent graduates as well as candidates with some experience).
