We are currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HGV Drivers to join a busy waste management operation in Exeter. The role is working on the offensive waste collection side, carrying out refuse removal and waste collection services from commercial customers.

The Role

  • Driving a Class 2 HGV as part of a commercial waste collection operation
  • Collecting and removing offensive waste from customer sites
  • Working on refuse removal and waste collection routes
  • Regularly stopping at multiple customer locations throughout the day
  • Carrying out duties safely and efficiently in line with company procedures
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and safe
  • Working to scheduled routes and collection requirements
  • Dealing professionally with customers when required

Typically around 8-hour working days.

The Work

This is a hands-on commercial waste collection role, so drivers should be comfortable working in an environment involving refuse removal and regular manual handling. Previous experience in waste, refuse collection, HGV driving or similar collection/delivery work would be advantageous, although relevant Class 2 experience will be considered.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • Previous Class 2 driving experience
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on waste/refuse environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Reliable, punctual and professional
  • Good customer service skills
  • Able to follow routes, schedules and company procedures
  • Good knowledge of UK roads
