Transport Administrator
Location: Rochester, Kent
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
Working Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
About the Role
We are currently looking for a reliable, organised and motivated Transport Administrator to join our busy transport operation in Rochester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career in the transport and logistics industry. You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the transport operation, working closely with colleagues, subcontractors and customers to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the transport operation.
- Liaising with subcontractors and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assisting with delivery planning and coordination.
- Providing administrative support to the trunking operation.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating information using Microsoft Office.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and external contacts.
- Helping to ensure the transport operation runs efficiently in a busy working environment.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have around two years' experience in a transport or logistics environment. However, we are happy to consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate the right attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn.
You will also need:
- Good communication skills and a confident telephone manner.
- A reasonable level of IT knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- The confidence to use your own initiative and manage tasks effectively.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
