This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, multi-site engineering business based in their Liverpool facility. Specialising in electrical, electronic & mechanical engineering, they provide a complete turnkey fault-find, repair and manufacture service for a wide range of clients. Growing demand has led to an immediate requirement for an experienced Electrical Engineer/Fitter with in-depth knowledge and experience of repairing electrical rotating equipment. A key part of the role is to provide rostered out-of-hours cover which attracts generous remuneration.

Duties will include:

  • Dismantling a wide range of motors (including AC & DC), brake motors, gearboxes, pumps, fan units, and experience with static and dynamic testing.
  • Testing and repair of transformers.
  • Identifying and repairing any faults found.
  • Re-assembly and testing of equipment following repair.
  • Working with motor voltages up to 415 Volts and test voltages up to 2Kv.
  • Dealing with technical issues which may arise.
  • Attending site to test and analyse motors and generators in use using standard industry equipment and determining faults and repair action required.
  • Experience working with alternators and fault finding preferable but not essential.
  • Site working as required.

Full UK driving licence required.

Hours of work are 40 hours Mon-Fri 08.00 - 16.30 day shift with occasional overtime or weekend work during busy periods. The role comes with a very competitive starting rate of £18.17 per hour and an OTE of £40,000 pa, together with company pension, death in service benefit and 4 weeks holiday (increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years) + bank holidays.
