We are currently seeking 4 Aluminium skilled Welders to join our client in South Shields on a 6 month contract. This role involves reading engineering drawings and running welds in accordance to the drawings. The successful applicants will contribute to the production of high-quality welds, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the welding process.
Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding in aluminium, including sheet metal and structural components, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections of welds to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in the jigging and clamping of parts ready for welding.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Aluminium welding, to coding standard.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal work and basic mechanical principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for precise work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding are desirable but not essential.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am - 6pm and you could be asked to work overtime on weekends. The hourly rate for this role is £16-19 per hour and overtime rates are time and a half on basic rate. Accommodation and subsistence will be paid for the 8 week assignment.
