The Van Conversion Technician is responsible for transforming standard vans into fully functional and customised vans. This role involves various tasks, including electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work to create comfortable and safe living spaces within the vans.

Main tasks of job:

  • Perform camper van conversions based on client specifications and design plans
  • Install and integrate electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and power outlets
  • Handle plumbing tasks, such as water system installation, sinks, and waste disposal systems
  • Construct and install cabinetry, countertops, and storage solutions
  • Install windows, ventilation systems, and insulation for climate control
  • Work with upholstery and fabric materials for seating and bedding arrangements
  • Installation of roof extensions or pop-tops, training given
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in camper van conversion techniques

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous experience in van conversions, carpentry, electrical work, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and automotive systems is an advantage
