We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire & Security Engineer to join our clients’ team. Our client is proud to be both NSI Gold & BAFE registered.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be Leicestershire based, working on the road in a company vehicle from home and accessing the clients’ offices near Loughborough. Salary is dependent on experience, with a starting salary of £30K per year + engineering bonuses, team bonuses, and substantial benefits.

From decades in fire safety engineering and latterly onboarding CCTV surveillance, Access Control, and Intruder clients, the quality of the workmanship has been recognised as outstanding by NSI GOLD and BAFE accreditation. This permits the client to connect to the Police response and the Fire Services.

They deliver their services by employing local people to support the local economy. We are recruiting additional local skilled people to provide their services right first time, every time. We need staff who can share our passion to care for people who need our help, with all our work carried out to the UK’s highest standards.

Core activities of this role:

  1. Maintenance and installation of fire alarms, security, CCTV, access control, emergency lighting, and extinguisher systems.
  2. Maintaining systems to schedules as prescribed by relevant British Standards.
  3. Responding to attendance requests for system breakdowns or faults. An on-call rota for 1 week in 3.
  4. Investigation of faults and providing engineered solutions to ensure systems are operational to the client’s satisfaction.
  5. Undertaking refurbishment surveys, capturing data, and providing information for follow-up quotations to be prepared.

Candidates:

The candidate must be physically fit and capable of working at height. They shall have no criminal record, and an enhanced criminal records check to Police standards will take place before appointment.

Knowledge and Experience:

The candidate will develop his/her understanding of the requirements for Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, and Security Systems and the engineering processes involved in installation and maintenance. Internal and external training will be provided by the company.

Skills:

  1. An electrical qualification, skills, or electrical apprenticeship.
  2. Knowledge of current IEE and British Standards for said systems.
  3. Full driving licence; clean preferred.
  4. Be computer literate.
  5. Possess good communication skills, written and verbal.

Personal Skills:

  1. Ability to work alone and plan work patterns; ability to work at height.
  2. Ability to work from a home base with a company vehicle provided.
  3. Ability to schedule individual workloads in order to meet clients’ project requirements.

Working Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with travel to and from site of up to 45 mins either side of these hours. On call on average of 1 weekend every 3 weeks.

Pay:

From £30,000.00 per year
