We are seeking a reliable and professional ad-hoc Relief Delivery Driver to join our clients team at their site based in Stirling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong organisational abilities, and exceptional communication skills to provide outstanding service to our customers. This position could possibly suit someone who is fully or semi-retired but happy with ad-hoc working requirements.

Duties as a Relief Delivery Driver:

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles (3.5t Vans), adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure prompt delivery of goods.
  • Load and unload items, sometimes involving heavy lifting, with care to prevent damage.
  • Confirm delivery details with customers upon arrival and obtain signatures as required.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
  • Assist with warehouse duties when not on the road, including organising stock and preparing deliveries.

Requirements as a Relief Delivery Driver:

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, ideally with commercial driving experience.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform some heavy lifting when required, often involving bulky or heavy items.
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Good organisational skills for route planning and time management.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
